This year's fundraiser exceeded last year's by $134.93!
Laura Fairchild, our Simpson Elementary School PTA's Childhood Cancer Awareness Fundraiser Committee chair, Leigh Anna Lang, and Sara Tran ensured this year's Fundraiser was full of heart, and success!
100% of Fundraising efforts from the Simpson community will support CURE Childhood Cancer and Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, two Atlanta-based nonprofit organizations dedicated to finding better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures for children battling cancer.
CURE Childhood Cancer | Since CURE’s beginnings in 1975, they have raised millions of dollars to advance promising research, lobbied for important legislation, and provided tangible support to thousands of childhood cancer patients and their families. While CURE was initially founded to conquer childhood cancer through research, the organization has evolved into much more today. Research remains a focus as evidenced by the fact that they have invested more than $43 million in innovative research over the past twelve years. CURE’s programs address the physical, emotional, financial, and educational needs of families during treatment and beyond.
Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research | Rally Foundation exists to empower volunteers across the country to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures for childhood cancer. Since 2006, Rally has awarded more than $29 million in grants, funding more than 500 pediatric and adolescent research projects nationally and internationally. In addition to directly funding research, Rally Foundation has advocated and secured $156 million from the Department of Defense Medical Research Program for cancers in children, adolescents, and young adults. Rally’s Family Emergency Fund and Rally Good Meal program support childhood cancer families. Of every dollar donated to Rally, 93 cents support its mission.
